It faced rebellion in its Arab territories during the conflict. After the war, the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920 formally dismantled the Ottoman state, ending its six-century reign (Mantran, 2001). The Empire’s internal weaknesses and inability to match external military pressures ultimately led to its disintegration in the modern period.

In summary, factors like centralized administration, the millet system, early military dominance, economic prosperity, and dynastic stability allowed the Ottoman Empire to survive for over six centuries where other Islamic empires fell (Shaw & Shaw, 1977; Mantran, 2001; Pamuk, 2004; Finkel, 2005).
